I know, I know! It has been forever since I updated this blog spot. But so much has been happening, I can barely keep up. If it wasn't for a guest speaker tomorrow morning (Rev. Rich and Debbie Crabb) I wouldn't be doing this now. Building committee Meetings, the removal of the church annex, putting in a parking lot, changing the church name, the annual business meeting, putting together 2007's schedule and outreaches, meetings, meetings, meetings.
Beside all this, it looks like we sold our present facility. And we won't have to vacate until we are ready to move into our new facility. Although God has given us a huge amount of money to build with, we are planning a Capital Funds Campaign to raise money to fully equip the new building. We are planning to build a multi-ministry facility that will be available to the community. We (I) are hoping to include a Day Care, meeting rooms for community groups, a large foyer and coffee bar, as well as making the facility a "Green" building (environmentally friendly and efficient).
We are also working on changing our name, but NOT our affiliation with the A/G. We love being A/G. But, we want to create a name that says something about what we do and who we are. We also want to drop the denominational tag, hoping that this will help us have more guests. Most of our guests aren't Assemblies of God folks, and we are trying to reach the unchurched and de-church folks. We want people to give us chance and not eliminate us from their church shopping list before they even know how well we minister and what we have to offer.
I am trying to work on developing a master plan for our church - one that will take us well into the future. It includes plans to hire a Day Care Director/Children's Pastor and open a Day Care. We want bringing on staff a Chi Alpha Director/Youth Pastor, build additional phases to our church "campus," do extensive evangelism, outreach and local missions work, and more.
God is Amazing! If we do what He asks us to do - pray, evangelize, give and walk by faith, (among other things) God does amazing things and allows us to be involved with Him.
Keep the Faith! Tell the world about Jesus! And Give so that God can give back to you.
